It is also a thought and knowledge leader in the field, with Cisco certifications having become the industry standard of professional education in networking and related technologies.

Cisco has developed a line of IT Professional certifications for its products. These vendor-centered certifications are especially useful to IT professionals planning to focus on Cisco technologies. Given the fact that Cisco Systems have over 60% of the market share, these credentials are highly valued by candidates and potential employers alike.

Cisco certifications come in 8 different paths: Routing & Switching, Service Provider, Service Provider Operations, Storage Networking, Voice, Datacenter, Design, Network Security, Wireless. Most of these tracks have 5 levels of certification: Entry (CCENT), Associate (CCNA / CCDA), Professional (CCNP / CCDP), Expert (CCIE / CCDE), Architect (Ar).
